4th of July Fun

This month has gone by very quickly. I guess time really does fly when you are having fun. I will try to update a few other things we did this month on another day, but this is what we did on the 4th of July weekend . We went to Neola and enjoyed the festivities. On Friday we went to the BBQ dinner and to the kids rodeo. Jackie and McKinley wanted to chase bunnies and Grant wanted to chase a chicken. When Jackie was waiting to chase her bunny, someone threw about 7-8 baby kitties in the arena and they kind of freaked out and ran right to the kids to hide. Well one actually ran right between Jackie and Dads legs to hide. Then when they actually said go, Jackie wouldn't move because she was just as scared as the poor kitty. So she left empty handed (hooray!!).
When McKinley chased her bunny she ran after one bunny and when someone snagged it she stopped running and just cried.

When Grant FINALLY got his turn, he followed mom's coaching and kept running even if one chicken got picked up he kept finding a new chicken. He did a wonderful job running after all of them and came close a couple of times, now he needs to practice picking one up instead of just running after them. But needless to say, he left empty-handed as well and cried for about a half hour afterward. VERY TRAUMATIC the kids rodeo is!!

The next day we went to the Parade and hung out at Grandpa Paul and Grandma LaJean's house. Aunt Joyce was visiting from Virginia and Rick, Sarah, Jackson and Carson were out too. Grandma made a water slide out of the pump house hill and the kids had a blast. This makes me miss my mom because she used to do these kind of crazy fun things. It was a fun weekend.
